Pingvero is a free hub of tools for testing your Internet connection and looking into how your network behaves — speed, ping, jitter, packet loss, IP, DNS and more. We built it because most of those numbers are easy to measure but not always easy to interpret, so the tools come with plain explanations rather than a bare result screen.

The Short Version

What This Website Is

Pingvero brings together a set of free, browser-based tools for testing and understanding an Internet connection. Some measure performance directly — speed, ping, jitter, packet loss and latency. Others look up network information — your public IP address, a domain’s DNS records or WHOIS details, or whether a given port is reachable. A couple of calculators handle the arithmetic behind subnetting and bandwidth planning.

Every tool gives you a result in seconds and links to a short explanation of what that result actually means. Most run directly in your browser; a few — DNS Lookup, WHOIS Lookup and Port Checker — run the actual lookup on our server and return the result to you. Nothing needs to be installed, and there is no account to create before you can use any of them.

The Reason

Why We Built These Tools

“My Internet feels slow” can mean several different things. Sometimes it’s the download speed. Sometimes the connection is fast but a game still lags, because ping or jitter is the actual issue. Sometimes video calls stutter even though a speed test looks fine, because a small amount of packet loss is dropping data along the way. And sometimes the problem isn’t the Internet plan at all — it’s the WiFi signal between the router and the device.

Telling these apart usually means running more than one test and knowing what the numbers mean once you have them. That’s the gap Pingvero tries to close: a set of focused tools, each measuring one specific thing clearly, backed by guides that explain the concept in plain language instead of assuming you already know what “jitter” or a “subnet mask” means.

Reading a Result

Understanding Network Test Results

A test result is a real, timed measurement taken at one moment — not a permanent verdict on your connection.

The same connection can produce different numbers from one run to the next, and that’s normal rather than a sign something is broken. A result can shift with:

  • WiFi versus a wired Ethernet connection
  • Distance from the router and physical obstacles
  • The device running the test
  • Congestion elsewhere on your local network
  • Your ISP’s network conditions
  • The location of the test server
  • Time of day and overall traffic
  • Background downloads, backups or streaming
  • Other apps or devices active at the same time

A single test tells you what happened on that run, on that path, at that moment — it doesn’t automatically identify the exact cause of a problem. Running a test a few times, and comparing more than one type of test, gives a much clearer picture than any one result on its own.

Our tools measure real, timed data — nothing is simulated or estimated. That said, no online test can capture the full quality of a connection in a single number. A speed test, a ping test or a DNS lookup each look at one specific thing, from one specific path, at one specific moment; a different server, device or time of day can produce a different result even on the same connection.

Treat these tools as a starting point for diagnosing a problem, not as absolute proof of its cause. If a result looks unexpected, running the test again, trying a wired connection instead of WiFi, or checking a related tool — ping alongside jitter, for example — will usually tell you more than a single number on its own.
